Mohamed Serfati

The purpose of this article is to show the impact of the «sex/gender» variable in the lexical availability of 40 Moroccan students of Spanish as a foreign language at the Faculty of Arts and Humanities of Ibn Zohr University d ‘Agadir. Our goal is to know the available lexicon of learners who have Arabic and / or Amazighe as their mother tangue, who begin their academic career in Hispanic studies. After a brief history of the discipline, we try to study the relationship of this sociological factor with the lexical competence of our informants that quantitative and qualitative analysis provides us with proportionally significant data on the intimate associative relationship between the available lexicon and the ‘sex/gender’.
